All Are Welcome
I'm Rabbi David Edleson, it's my honor to welcome you to Temple Sinai. We are a proudly Reformed egalitarian congregation that weaves a lot of tradition into our services and our practices. We are a peaceful and welcoming congregation that focuses on celebrating Jewish life and resilience. And while we may have criticism, support for a safe and prosperous State of Israel is a key part of our Jewish identity. If that sounds good to you, come check us out. We'd love to have you.

What Our Members Have To Say

"The atmosphere at Temple Sinai is loving, accepting, and refreshing. The congregants are friendly and involved. Everyone is welcome---even if you aren't Jewish. The Rabbi's forward-thinking attitude and positive energy is infectious, but the people are not infectious. They take Covid precautions and are very safety aware. The music makes you want to dance, the Rabbi's messages are well-thought and enlightening, it's just an all around fulfilling experience to be a part of this community.”

“Such a warm, loving, spiritual place. A small Temple in northern Vermont is lucky to have such an amazing array of talent and the greatest Rabbi around. Keep on singing, dancing, and worshipping!”

“I am so thankful to have moved to Burlington and found Temple Sinai. It has the experience that I have wanted for many years. I can’t wait to be able to get involved!!”
“When I enter Temple Sinai, I feel embraced by the warm spirit and energy of this congregation. I raised my 4 children here and Temple Sinai gave them a firm foundation to go forth in the world. As President of the Congregation, I love that we are working every day to make Temple Sinai a great place for great Jewish conversations.”

“I LOVE Hebrew School because it’s fun and we get to be together with other kids.”

“I’m "spiritual" but definitely not "religious." I didn’t even know I was looking for a faith-based community 15-years ago as our children were being born. Today, after experiencing so many life-cycle events, I can’t imagine life without Temple Sinai. I have found a community where independent thinking, as well as how I treat my friends and neighbors, is valued above all else; where deep friendships have been made; where Rabbi links current events and attitudes with Torah; where dancing and singing as a community are profound activities; and where reaching out to members, to the Greater Burlington community and, indeed, the world--things I think of as engaging with life--whether as part of Chaverim or Social Action are done on a daily basis. And all this is possible because of the brilliance and open-mindedness of our Rabbi. All I can say is to come walk the walk and talk the talk with us at Temple Sinai.”
