Death and Mourning
When a Loved One Dies
Rabbi Edleson wants to support you when there has been a death in your family. He is available to officiate at burials and provide pastoral care to surviving family members. He also often speaks with members before a death is imminent. Please contact the Executive Director and put “confidential” in the subject line.
Yahrzeit/Yizkor Services
Yahrzeit (Anniversary of a Death)
Members are invited to provide names of loved ones they want written and read aloud during services. Names are also added when a death occurs in a member’s family. Yahrzeit(anniversary of a death) reminders will be sent to members in advance of the specific Shabbat when the yahrzeit is observed. Contact the Executive Director to add your loved one’s name, and specify if you prefer the English or Hebrew date.
Yizkor Services (Remembrance)
Special Yizkor (remembrance) liturgy is a part of Yom Kippur, Passover, Shavuot and Sukkot services.
