Welcome to the Temple Sinai Religious School!
Once a week learning!
Available to all synagogue members tuition free!
At Temple Sinai, our Religious School is rooted in the values of inclusivity, joy, and meaningful Jewish learning. Students of all genders are full participants—reading from the Torah, leading prayers, and celebrating holidays as a community. Our Hebrew program is designed for real-life Jewish practice, supporting learners at every level. We warmly welcome interfaith, LGBTQ+, multiracial, and questioning families, ensuring that every child feels a sense of belonging. Here, students not only gain skills and knowledge, but also develop lasting friendships, Jewish pride, and a deep connection to our tradition.
Registration is now open for the 2025-2026 school year:
What Makes Us Different
Egalitarian community: Girls and boys read from Torah, take aliyot, and help lead services. Families sit together. Women and men serve as clergy and lay leaders.
Hebrew with heart: We teach Hebrew for real Jewish life and prayer. Students learn at the level that fits them.
Joyful learning: Art, music, storytelling, and hands-on projects bring Judaism to life.
Whole-child approach: We focus on friendships, values, and belonging, not just content coverage.
How Our Program Works

Serving Children K-7
The Temple Sinai Religious School welcomes children and their families to join us for Jewish learning from Kindergarten through Bar/Bat Mitzvah. School meets on Thursday afternoons from 4:00pm-6:00pm weekly from September through May.
Grade Level Cohorts & Mixed Grade Learning
Our approach to teaching and learning is founded on a belief that as children work toward something hard, becoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah, having peers working toward the same goal is critical to feel supported and successful. At the same time, providing learning opportunities for mixed grades allows children to build a larger community that cares for one another. At Temple Sinai, we provide both. Our school year is structured to intentionally schedule time for grade-level learning AND mixed grade opportunities giving children the best of both as they come together as a community of Jewish youth.
Face-to-Face Hebrew
Hebrew is at the foundation of Jewish culture. Any time Jews walk into a Jewish organization, they are confronted with words, phrases, and more using the Hebrew aleph bet and language. Our mission is to make sure that children are prepared to be familiar with Hebrew to feel comfortable as Jews whenever they find themselves in a Jewish environment. To do this, we teach our students to learn the aleph bet, read words, and become familiar with prayerbook Hebrew so they can lead prayers during their Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
As a living language, we are also committed to doing this in face-to-face sessions and during Religious School.
*Children joining us after 4th grade may be required to study outside of Religious School to catch up.
B.Mitzvah Preparation
Temple Sinai is a welcoming, inclusive, caring, fun-loving, dynamic, and celebratory community.
We are a community without judgment, serving as an extended Jewish family, who is proud of our heritage, and who is honored to support you as you celebrate your child as a Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
Through our Religious School, we support your child as the prepare to be called to the Torah as a member of a cohort of peers who together learn and prepare for this lifecycle event.
