ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Dr. Millicent Eidson
As a public health faculty member in New York and Vermont, Professor Eidson has engaged public health professionals with a college course on zoonoses and climate change. She is also the author of over a hundred scientific papers, articles, and book chapters.
“Dr. Millie” began her writing vocation with an underground satirical high school newspaper. Passionate about lifelong learning, Millie studies French, Spanish, painting and photography in addition to creative writing.

The fictional MayaVerse is supported by Millie's family. The lead character Maya Maguire was created in close collaboration with her daughter, Lian Henderson, adopted as an infant from China. Millie's husband and Lian's dad, Tom Henderson, is the producer for audiovisual materials.
