Series: Poems for Elul: Modern Hebrew Poems of Nature and Home with Havdalah

In the Torah, the land itself is given a Shabbat every seven years called "sh'mitah". This past year has been such a year. To honor the year of Sh'mitah that is coming to an end, and to honor Elul, Rabbi Small and Rabbi Edleson will lead four sessions to explore modern Hebrew poems (in translation) that honor nature and the land.

The class will culminate with a dinner and poetry reading in the Sukkah. The first three classes will be held on ZOOM, all are welcome, and no Hebrew is required. The final event will be in person in the Sukkah, place TBA.

Class dates:
September 1st
September 3rd
September 8th
October 13th (this is the only in person date)

This series is sponsored in part by a Covenant Grant to JCVT from the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.
