Please Help Afghani Refugees in Vermont

There is a pressing need to provide support for the Afghani refugees. Estimates are that Vermont will be receiving over 400 during the next month or two.

There are immediate short-term needs for knives, can openers, men’s winter clothing, and large and substantial kitchen cooking pots. No doubt, there will other needs later, as well.

Temple Sinai is contributing $500 towards the purchase of halal meats and Afghani breads, which are available in small grocery stores but not the major supermarkets. Checks can be written to United States Committee for Refugees and Immigrants and left at one of the addresses below.

We are collecting items (see above) between now and the beginning of next year.  You can drop your donation at the two of the following places, please contact them for their address:

South Burlington (home of David Shiman and Elise Guyette)

or

Burlington (home of Mark and Deb Leopold)

Thank you.
