In honor of Jewish American Heritage Month, and the 150th Anniversary of Reform Judaism in America, our next Brunch and Learn with Rabbi Edleson will be on the history and beliefs of Reform Judaism in America.
Why are 3 of the first 5 synagogues in America Reform? How did Reform Judaism become the largest stream of Judaism in America? Why was the rabbinical school built in Cincinnati, Ohio? Why did they serve lobster bisque at the banquet for the first class of Reform rabbis? We will also look at how Reform belief and purpose have changed over 150 years.
