Easter, the Jews and Antisemitism

“People love dead Jews. Living Jews - not so much.”   Dara Horn

Easter was for centuries the most dangerous day of the year for Jews in Europe and beyond.  In this “crash course” we’ll explore why that is, starting with the split between Jewish and Christian theology and scripture.  We’ll consider Pharisees, Sadducees, Essenes and Zealots, as well as Paul, Popes and Pogroms.  We’ll also consider later figures like Martin Luther, Father Coughlin, and look at current itierations of Christian antisemitism as well as efforts at healing this history.

Note:  Because it’s Passover, we will have a potluck brunch of matzoh and spreads – and mimosas.  CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE POTLUCK BRUNCH
