Temple Sinai offers a variety of worship opportunities during the High Holidays. For Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, we use Mishkan Hanefesh, published by the Central Conference of American Rabbis. Services are accompanied by our Cantorial Soloist, organ, and choir.
Erev Rosh Hashanah – Worship, followed by an Oneg, usually with apples and honey!
Rosh Hashanah – Morning worship service. A short children's service is also offered before the congregational service. Both services include the sounding of the Shofar!
Erev Yom Kippur/Kol Nidre – Worship service, including the traditional thrice-repeated "all vows" prayer. Please arrive on time; no-one will be admitted to the Sanctuary during the reading of Kol Nidre.
Yom Kippur – Morning worship, guest speaker, and afternoon service including Yizkor. Again, a short children's service is offered before the congregational service.
Childcare for children ages 3-8 is available during Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur morning services only. Registration is REQUIRED. Please log into Chaverweb to sign up your children or contact the Temple Administrator for more information.
There is no assigned seating, but General Admission Tickets are required for entry to the above listed services.
- Dues-paying members in good standing automatically receive tickets.
- Complimentary tickets are also available for visitors who are members of other congregations, members of the military, and students.
- For other guests, there is a suggested donation per ticket. For all questions regarding tickets or to order, please contact the Temple Administrator.
In addition to the services listed above, the High Holidays offer additional opportunities for reflection and worship. Please check the Temple calendar for events and worship honoring Shabbat Shuvah, Simchat Torah/ Shmini Atzeret, and Sukkot.
